So I’ve just done – and hugely enjoyed – my second radio broadcast since my stoma operation.

This time my delightful interviewer was my good friend Elene Marsden, with whom I’ve shared many a networking breakfast, many conversations, and a few significant life events including her 30th wedding anniversary, where Rosemary and I sang a couple of numbers together as our contribution to the celebration.

As Elene had posted a picture of herself in a superb replica of the Sutton Hoo helmet, I felt it only appropriate to respond in kind when I turned up at Ipswich Community Radio after an interesting trek across the centre of town thanks to our satnav dumping me at their old address. Elene, I have to say, covered magnificently.

I’m not in the least uncomfortable talking to a live microphone (I’ve often done it before) although I prefer not being out of breath when I’m doing it! Elene quickly got me back into the zone and we had a delightful conversation about my four music choices – and the importance of music in my life – before we made a seamless transition into the subject of this website.

And the result? Listen for yourself by following the link at the beginning of this post…

Thanks to Elene again, and to her colleague Chris who gamely came out to find me just before I discovered a route map to the right location on Google Maps. I walked fast…
